The UNIDO Center in the Russian Federation will join Rosatom’s youth initiative as a media partner

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Center in the Russian Federation supported the Impact Team 2050, an international youth team initiated by Rosatom.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Center in the Russian Federation, which is part of the global network of UNIDO Offices for the Promotion of Investments and Technologies, has become a media partner of the Impact Team 2050, Rosatom’s global initiative.

The Impact Team 2050 is a global sustainability partnership between youth and Rosatom. Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev announced the launch of the initiative on December 1, 2021. The Impact Team 2050 will include 15 young visionaries aged 18-25, representing 7 continents.

The cooperation provides for interaction in a number of areas related to the implementation of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030. The potential areas of cooperation include UNIDO’s expert participation in the selection of candidates to the Impact Team 2050. “UNIDO is open to industrial development initiatives in all 170 countries where our organization operates. We are very glad that Rosatom is joining in addressing our objectives,” said Sergey Korotkov, head of the UNIDO Center in Russia.

“Partnership with international organizations in the implementation of humanitarian projects is extremely important for us. Rosatom is already a member of the UN Global Compact; cooperation with the UNIDO Center in Russia is our next important step. I am confident that our global partnership with youth will be a role model for other Russian and international companies UNIDO cooperates with,” said Gulnara Bikkulova, Deputy CEO of the Rosatom Corporate Academy.

The Impact Team 2050 is a global partnership between youth and Rosatom; it is an international youth team working to ensure sustainable transformation of the world in the interests of youth. The Impact Team members will provide advice to Rosatom’s executives on the implementation of Rosatom’s Vision 2030 global strategy, as well as act as a pipeline supporting youth initiatives around the world. The Impact Team 2050 will first meet in 2022 at the International Youth Nuclear Congress in Sochi. You can apply to participate in the Impact Team 2050 on the website: https://team.rosatomimpact.com/.
