XIII International Energy Forum “Innovations. Infrastructure. Safety”

XIII International Energy Forum “Innovations. Infrastructure. Safety” took place in Moscow at 10th of December. The forum was included in the plan of events for the Year of Science and Technology, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. The main topic of the forum was: “Global Energy Transition. Sustainable development. Decarbonization of the economy”. The forum was organized by the Center for Business Support and Development „Initiative“ together with the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia and the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation.

The plenary session was moderated by Mr. Denis Kravchenko, Deputy of the State Duma, coordinator of the federal project „Locomotives of Growth“. In his opening remarks Mr. Kravchenko noted the global trend of a low-carbon, energy-saving and socially exclusive model of the economy and emphasized that this is also a priority development path in Russia for the next decade.

Within the framework of the Forum, the Business Development Territory networking sessions were held. All participants held negotiations with large customers, state corporations, funds and development institutions: Federal State Budgetary Institution „REA“ of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, LLC „MECHEL-ENERGO“, Moscow Regional Guarantee Fund, JSC „ TVEL, MCC EuroChem JSC, USC JSC, Rostec State Corporation, RES JSC, Tatneft PJSC, State Development Corporation VEB.RF, Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, LLC Inter RAO- Engineering, Sakhalin Region Development Corporation JSC, VTB Capital, Gazprom PJSC, Moscow City Industrial Development Agency, NOVATEK PJSC, Rosatom State Corporation, Mosoblenergo JSC, Sberbank PJSC, TMK PJSC, Gazprombank (JSC), OEK JSC, Transneft PJSC, SME Corporation JSC, Russian Railways, etc.

The work of the Session „Transformation of the Russian Electricity Market: Challenges and Opportunities“ was moderated both by Mr. Georgy Kutovoy, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Energy Strategy and Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and Mr. Sergey Korotkov, Director of the UNIDO Centre for Industrial Cooperation.

Keynote presentations were made by: Mr. Alexey Konev, Director for Innovative Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Russian Energy Agency” of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, Mr. Andrey Bondarchuk, Chairman of the Committee for Energy and Engineering Support of the Government of St. Petersburg, Mr. Vasily Potemkin, Managing Director of Development Corporation JSC Far East and Arctic”, Mr. Oleg Lushnikov, Executive Director of the Association “Hydropower of Russia”, Mr. Petr Popov, Deputy Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory — Head of the Representation of the Government of the Trans-Baikal Territory under the Government of the Russian Federation.

During the work of the Forum, proposals were made to improve key areas of the country’s fuel and energy complex. All proposals will be included in the final resolution of the event and will be sent to key ministries and departments as well as to Forum participants for further work.
