UNIDO Centre at INNOPROM 2018

On July 8-11, 2018, took place the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM 2018 in Yekaterinburg, that brought together more that 600 companies from 20 countries. Among the participants of the event were representatives of the UNIDO Centre in Russia.

INNOPROM is the biggest international industrial exhibition in Russia held annually since 2010 in Yekaterinburg. Within INNOPROM plenary sessions, roundtables, business meetings, discussions, presentations, workshops are organized for representatives of business, expert community, public authorities not only from Russia, but also from abroad. INNOPROM is the main event dedicated to new technologies and innovations in the industrial field in Russia.

On July 9, as part of INNOPROM, the Russia-Korea Industrial Forum was held, where national expert of the UNIDO Centre, Svetlana Erkenova, presented the UNIDO mandate in the field of technical and industrial cooperation.

Moreover, the Russia-Algeria Business Dialogue on strategic partnerships between business circles of the two countries took place on the second day of the exhibition. The Director of UNIDO Centre, Sergey Korotkov, made a presentation at the event. He spoke about UNIDO activities in the field of import and export capacities building and technology transfer support.

On July 10, Sergey Korotkov took part in the roundtable dedicated to the upcoming Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS), which will be held in Yekaterinburg in 2019. Representatives of interested organizations discussed possible strategies for the preparation and holding of the event. In conclusion of the roundtable, a countdown to the start of GMIS was launched on the event’s official website.

On the sidelines of INNPROM, representatives of the UNIDO Centre held several bilateral meetings with regional partners. The UNIDO Centre Director discussed with the First Deputy Governor of Sverdlovsk region, Alexey Orlov, about the preparation for GMIS, as well as the possibility of holding the next ITPO Heads’ meeting in Yekaterinburg during GMIS.

A meeting was held with the Deputy Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, Alexey Zabozlaev, on the potential of application of UNIDO strategies and methodologies for the development of the district and opportunities for cooperation.

With Anastasia Ivanova, representative of Russian Export Centre, perspectives of cooperation and potential joint projects were discussed.

Finally, a meeting took place with representatives of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works where possibilities of introduction of new energy management practices were considered.
