    On 13 February 2019, the House of Moscow oblast Government hosted an event dedicated to taking stock of the environmental programme “Tire-2018”, as well as an award ceremony for the most active participants of the programme among municipalities and volunteers.     On October 18, the Director of the UNIDO Centre in Russia, Sergey Korotkov, met with the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Rustem Mardanov on the sidelines of the Fourth Forum on Small Business of the SCO and BRICS Regions in Ufa. The meeting was devoted to discussions of possible areas of cooperation in the context of industrial potential development of Bashkortostan, mainly through improvement of competitiveness of local enterprises on external markets.

    On October 15, experts from the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) visited Moscow. The agenda included visit to the production site of the UNIDO / GEF / Russian Railroads JSC project “Environmentally Sound Management and Final Disposal of PCBs at Russian Railroads network and Other PCBs Owners”, as well as negotiations on joining the UNIDO and NEFCO efforts regarding implementation of the Stockholm Convention on POPs in the Russian Federation.

At a session entitled “Strengthening international alliances for localization of Waste-to-Energy solutions”, participants shared experiences of the implementation of waste-to-energy solutions in their respective countries.
