The annual industrial exhibition “Hannover Messe 2017”, whose main theme was Industry 4.0, concluded in Hannover

From 24 to 28 April 2017 the annual Hannover Messe – one of the biggest international exhibitions of high technology, innovation and industrial automation — took place in Germany. The key thematic focus of the event was the transition to Industry 4.0.
Director General of UNIDO Mr. LI Yong participated in the event. Visitors of the Fair had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Organization’s activities aimed at building resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation (Goal 9. UN Sustainable Development Goals) showcased at a dedicated UNIDO booth. This year special attention was given to projects in the field of trade and technology transfer implemented by UNIDO jointly with exhibitors from six countries: Iraq, Iran, Cameroon, China, Mozambique and Nigeria.
On the sidelines of the Hannover Messe, Mr. LI Yong met with the delegation of the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation, led by Minister Denis Manturov. The Director General of UNIDO thanked the Russian Government and the Ministry for continuous support of the Organization and the UNIDO Centre in the Russian Federation in particular. He expressed hope that successful cooperation will continue in the future with the assistance of the Ministry to development and implementation of new projects with Russian public and private partners in the field of investment promotion, technology transfer, renewable energy and environment.
