COP26 Energy transition discussion

Representatives of the UNIDO Center in the Russian Federation took part in the Energy Transition round table within the framework of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26). UN Goodwill Ambassador Vyacheslav Fetisov opened round tables.

Within the framework of the round table, such issues as: energy transition, hydrogen and nuclear energy, oil and gas industry, problems of CO2 emissions and methane leakage were discussed.
Among the speakers were Hasseldin Stewart, Professor of Carbon Capture and Storage, University of Edinburgh, Harrison Gareth, Head of the Department of Electricity, University of Edinburgh, Edelgeriev Ruslan Sayd-Khusainovich, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on Climate Issues and others.

Roundtables on energy transition, responsible financing and sustainable development of the Arctic region received more than 10,000 views on the day of the live broadcast. The final results of the discussions will subsequently be sent to the UN-FCCC Secretariat and the President of the Russian Federation.
